70's Baby

So I may be telling you something you already know, but it must be shared! Have any of you heard of the SNS manicure or dipping powder? For the last couple of months I've been getting what's called an SNS manicure. Upon selecting your color, they give you a regular manicure and rather than polish your nails they dip them in a colored powder that hardens into a finish. On a spectrum, the finish lies somewhere between the finish of gel polish and acrylic.

I absolutely love this manicure!!! It's helped strengthen my nails which have grown so much that I'm getting them cut every I go back. It must be said I don't like long nails so long for me is seeing my nails past the quick. The other thing that must be said is anything that covers your natural nails for weeks at a time may have a negative impact on the health of the nail. Your manicurists technique, the removal methods and other things will factor into how your nails fare.

These manicures are not yet available everywhere but let me know if you try it.

This was date night with my hubs and I was channeling the seventies, which is one of my favorite decades for fashion. Maybe because I was born in the seventies, maybe because those silhouettes make my legs look a mile long. In any case I offs with the gold shimmer, carefree and effortless look of the 70's. We had a great night in DC with friends.

  1. Yeesss, gurl. Serving looks. You are a bad shut-your-mouth! And yes, I have been getting SNS nails for about a month now. I love it. Not as damaging as gel or acrylic. Great minds think alike. I have a pretty neutral color on now, that I love!

    1. Thanks Misha!! I love the SNS manis. I should have known you'd be up on it;-p.
